Psycho was a huge influence on our film opening, not only did the opening sequence of panning shots influence our opening but the style of music and sound fx played a big part, for our sound FX, like Hitchcock we used watermelons being stabbed for the sounds of the slashing in the final scene

Black Christmas - Christmas theme
Black Christmas played a huge part in our closing to make "Christmas Sleigher" a Christmas themed slasher and that our killer would be Santa

Scream - Killer in house
Scream seemed an obvious choice for an influence to our opening, we used the, 'killer in the house' theme for our plot and decided that instead of using makeup and a fake beard for Santa it should be a mask like it is done in scream

Saw - Santa on TV "I want to play a game"

Opening to Christmas sleigher

Saw was the foundation for our idea of when Santa is on the TV, we used similar lighting, a voice distortion that would sound similar to Jigsaw and even the script such as "I would like to play a game" was based off the "I want to play a game" line in Saw. We also used the morality aspect from saw in our opening, in saw Jigsaw kills people that are criminals and bad people, so in ours we made the protagonist and person that is killed a cheat and unfaithful to his girlfriend, we also had the pair drinking alcohol underage.
